7/29/2016 0 Comments Out of the Frying Pan ...I really don't know how time passes so fast when you are on a mission. I feel like yesterday I was waving goodbye to my family in the airport, and I leave Mexico and head for Chile this Monday - crazy. This week was once again full of happy moments. I love it so much here.
SOCCER IN THE RAIN Last Thursday we played the most intense game of soccer on the outdoor basketball court. Halfway through the game it started pouring rain but we just kept playing anyway. We all got soaked and had tons of fun. DISTRICT LEADER´S BIRTHDAY Last friday was my district leader, Elder Flores´ birthday! His mom sent him a huge cake in the mail and we had a birthday party for him. We sang Feliz cumpleaños to him four times over the course of the day and totally stuffed our faces with cake. Great day! HELPING A LATINO WITH ENGLISH HOMEWORK On the way back to our class the other day, the hair dresser called my companion and I over and I was terrified that she was going to say our hair was too long, but instead she asked us to help with her English homework! She had to type out several sentences describing her house and how to get to different places in the city for a class she was taking at school. My companion and I helped her type out sentences like "I have four bedrooms in my house" or "The zoo is behind the movie theater". It really put it into perspective how hard it is to begin learning a language and how much effort it takes just to say simple things that I wouldn't think about for 0.05 seconds. Everyone Latin I speak to has had so much patience with me, just like I had to have while helping the woman with her homework. Hopefully the people in Chile help me and are patient. TEMPLE I had the special opportunity to go to the temple for the second time today. I understood the Spanish so much more and it really made me happy to notice the improvements I have made over the course of these weeks. I love the special spirit I can feel while in the temple. HOW MY MONDAY IS GOING TO BE I leave the missionary training center in Mexico City and head for Chile next Monday. The bus leaves the MTC at 5:30am, and my flight leaves the airport at around 11:15am. My flight is 7 hours and 55 minutes and I should get to Santiago around 8pm. It is going to be a long but super fun day and I am so excited. Since I leave Monday, I won't be able to get any more letters unless you send them through normal postage. So if you do send any after today, there's a pretty good chance I won't see them. So yeah. Sad but true :( I love life right now and I know all of it is because of the choices I am making. I know Heavenly Father sees me doing my best to try and help other people, so he is blessing me every single day. I know everyone else can feel that way too. If we forget about ourselves and serve the Lord, He will bless us. Everyone should do something to make someone else happy this week and you will see what I mean. I love you all! I hope you guys have a safe and fun week! Elder Scott
