So this week was both one of the best and one of the hardest weeks yet in my mission.
A mission is filled with moments that will frustrate you to the point you want to pull your hair out, but at the same time there are a bunch of moments where you couldn't be any happier. This was one of those weeks. Since this area is new for both my companion and I, we spend a lot of our time doing contacts, or speaking with people in the street. The other day we ran into this woman, had a short conversation about life, and set up an appointment to come to her house the next day.
So my companion and I went to her house the next day, and we have planned to teach a CCE lesson, or a lesson where you just kinda get to know the person, find out what questions they have, and find ways you can help them. This woman had a lot of questions about the church and was very eager to learn more but had a lot of doubts. My companion and I ended up giving her our long lesson about how the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I don´t know how I did it, but I talked more than I have ever talked during a lesson during this lesson. My companion Elder Gularte and I answered all of her questions and we all shared our testimonies and I could feel the Spirit so strong in the room. This woman started out the lesson super skeptical and having so many questions, but by the end she was so happy and she said she had a feeling she had never felt before. Guys. I know the church is true. What that woman was feeling wasn't an odd coincidence.
I know with every single part of me that God is here for us in every single moment of every day for eternity. No matter how unworthy we feel, no matter how far off the path we are, God is there and he always will be. Jesus died for every single one of us and through Jesus we can be clean from our sins and feel like we have never felt before. What more could we ask for?
I know that as everyone tries to draw closer to God and the example of Jesus, you will feel better than you have ever felt. I promise.
I love my mission and I am so proud that I have the opportunity to dedicate two very short years of my life to such an important cause. Love you all so so much
