11/16/2016 0 Comments WAZZZUUUP FRIENDSPeople yell things in English at me all the time. I mean, with a gringo face like mine, they can tell I am from America from a solid mile away. Usually they just yell profanities, or ask me what my name is, but the other day I saw this group of kids starting at me, so I yelled WAZZZZZZUUUUUUUP and they yelled WAZZZZZZUUUP back! Now every single time they see me we yell WAAAAAZZZZZZUUUUP at each other. I cry laughing every single time. Anywayssssss As missionaries, we not only teach people about Jesus and his plan for us, but we also do service!!! One of our investigators named Maria Isabel asked us to give her dogs a bath before she had a party at her house. My companion wasn't feeling it, so I had to do it, and I was a bit skeptical at first, but it turned about to be super hilarious and a good memory. Maria Isabel doesn't have a place to wash her dogs outside, so we had to bring them inside and do it in the shower. Also, her dogs are super super huge. Like ginourmous. So, in my shorts and T-shirt, I got in the shower with two dogs and a bottle of shampoo. Holy cow I got so so wet. They wouldn't stop shaking. I was laughing the whole time. It was so so fun to do service in a different way. Also, we had a creepy gypsy encounter this week. Next to one of our families that we teach there is a family of gypsies. Don´t get me wrong, I am sure gypsies are great people, but the ones that live next to this family are scary. They throw glass bottles at us and their little kid always follows us around. The other day, we were walking to an appointment, and this little gypsy kid comes up to us. He had blood all over his face, but he didn't have any cuts. His eyes were all crossed, and he was talking super quiet and in whispers. He asked us to come to his house so we could pray with him (there were missionaries that had that exact same thing happen to them before and once they got to the house the family stole all of their things). We knew that we shouldn't go because his family is way sketchy and we had an appointment to get to. We told him we couldn't go and he asked us again then started pulling on our clothes and touching us, trying to pull us to his house. It was freaky. Scary stuff dude. Maybe I am just a scaredy cat. Maybe both. We also had a great lesson with Maria Isabel. We have a baptismal date set with her. but she hasn´t been doing a few of the things she needs to do to progress toward her baptismal date (like pray and read the scriptures). So, our plan with her was to teach the importance of those two things. Prayer and Scripture study. How I look at it is to make a relationship with somebody, you have to talk to them. It is the exact same with our Heavenly Father. To develop a relationship with Him, you have to read His advice (the scriptures) and talk to Him through prayer. I testified of the scriptures to her and I felt so so good about what I said. Heavenly Father helped me for sure. Scriptures and prayer are super important. We can answer seriously any question we could ever have with the scriptures. With prayer, Heavenly Father can reveal his plan for us. Yeah. This week was sweet. I love life.
