This past week has been kinda the same as the past 5ish weeks I've been here. The schedule is always the same for different days and I feel like I am finally starting to get good at this routine. Too bad I leave the training center in a week and a half...
Here´s some special things that happened this week
STARTED OUT WITH A BANG
Everyday except for Sundays, we have gym time. After gym time we have 30 minutes to get ready for class. My companion was in the shower so I was just sitting on the bed waiting and blowing up one of those gigantic punch balloons that Elder Langston´s mom sent him for his birthday. I blew it up until it was probably a good 4 feet in diameter and then it exploded in my face. I couldn't hear for a solid 5 minutes and my companion who was in the other room seriously thought I got shot. People 4 rooms down from us heard it. I laughed until I cried.
PRETTY MUCH A PROFESSIONAL SOCCER PLAYER
Another day during gym time we played a crazy game of soccer on the basketball court. Highlight of the game (probably super lame for other people) was "megging" two different Elders. That is when you kick it between someone's legs. I have some figuratively big but physically small shoes to fill when it comes to soccer. Maybe after I live in South America for 2 years I will finally be able to beat my little brother Andrew.
Santa Vaca. I have gotten some great letters this week. Every single letter has been so motivational and inspiring. If you have written me a letter this week or the past 5, thank you so much. You guys make me feel so happy and I am so blessed that Heavenly Father put you all in my life.
OJOS COMO UN GATITO
The other night after devotional, a latino came up to me and told me I had eyes "como un catitio" or like a kitten. I didn't really know what to think, so I just said gracias. Before I know it, his entire district (8 or 9 latinos) has surrounded me and is making cat noises. They do it every single time they see me now no matter where we are. Gosh I love people
MY FAVORITE PART OF THE WEEK
On monday I finished the Book of Mormon for the first time while on my mission. For those of you that haven't heard of the Book of Mormon before, or don't know much about it, it is another testimony of Jesus Christ and it tells about the the inhabitants of ancient America and their dealings with God. Through reading it, I have felt the love of God so so much and I know anyone else that reads it will too. I definitely recommend anyone looking to grow closer to God or just feel happier in general read it.
Today marks my one month mark since having been gone. It has absolutely flown by and I am so happy here. I cannot wait to see what the next many months bring me and everyone else.
Next week is my last week here before I leave for Chile. Mail takes around a month to get to where I will be, and that is if it doesn't get stolen. So, if you guys have free time this week, feel free to send me letters! Seriously even if it is only a sentence I love them so much. They make me very happy and I love hearing from everyone.
I love you all so much and I know that through the example of Jesus Christ we can all return to live with God in Heaven. Have a great week! Talk to you next thursday!
